The Liposomal Artemisinin [Sweet Wormwood] Protocol
...as an anti parasitic and anti-cancer agent [significantly updated 9 March & 16 March 2024] and [significantly updated 8 May 2024]

Part 1 - the protocol
Artemisinin is the extracted or manufactured form of sweet wormwood which has been used for healing since beyond recorded memory.
From Facebook and now on Substack
This protocol was taken from Facebook and is part of a protocol (simplified) that Curt Michael Graydon has published there. Apparently the Group has now gone missing from Facebook, and his protocol with many more details than the original post on Facebook, has been re-published on Substack.
Anyone who wants to try to interpret a workable protocol from the post above is welcome, but below is my attempt from his original post to simplify it down to a protocol I could manage.
My protocol is strictly and only for Liposomal Artemisinin and no other form or derivative of sweet wormwood.
I struggled to interpret his material and I am not sure that I have interpreted his instructions correctly, but below is the protocol I am following for myself. Although several of the dosages and timing are not clear, I am fairly confident that my interpretation can do no harm. Please refer to the Substack article above to clarify it all for yourself.
[Edit, 8 May 2024, I had a melanoma excised without clear edges at the end of November at which stage a breast cancer was identified. In the 5 months since, there are no metastases from either cancer, but also the breast tumour has neither shrunk nor grown, so maybe I have or have not interpreted this protocol correctly.]

Shopping list
Liposomal Artemisinin (the anti-parasitic) Note that for this protocol you must use liposomal artemisinin, and if you cannot obtain it, go to the Facebook group linked above and find protocols for other versions of artemisinin
Heme Iron (to make the artemisinin more bio available)
TUDCA (to protect the liver)
Sodium Butyrate (to make the artemisinin 2-3 times more bio available)
Vitamin C (to take alongside the Heme iron)
Curcumin (works synergistically with artemisinin but to be taken with meals)
Grapefruit juice (to wash the artemisinin and sodium butyrate down)
Sources
The only online location I could find that stocks the first four of these on the shopping list is Amazon. Even iHerb did not have them all and Australian suppliers had NONE of them (except the heme iron). (If you find them in Australia, please let me know.)
Calendar
All parasite protocols are best timed with the phases of the moon. The parasite cleanse should coincide with the full moon, starting 3 days before the full moon for 7 days. The cancer protocol is the same but for 21 days. For cancer you can repeat the protocol 3 days (including TUDCA 4 days) before the next full moon until such time as you stop hurting or tests give you the all clear.
4 days before full moon, take 500-1,000 mg TUDCA to protect your liver, the night before using artemisinin. I presume this means taking it every night before taking artemisinin the next day not just once before you start the protocol.
3 days before full moon for 7 or 21 days:
MORNING, First thing in the morning on an empty stomach take 1,000 to 1,200 mg of liposomal artemisinin preferably with grapefruit juice or piperine and wait at least one hour before eating. Take for full 7 days or 21 days depending on protocol.
MORNING, If available, add 1-2 capsules of sodium butyrate at the same time as taking the liposomal artemisinin, as sodium butyrate increases the efficacy of the artemisinin by 2-3 times. (Size of capsule not given in article, so presumably take the dose recommended on the bottle.)
WITH BREAKFAST, take curcumin/turmeric as they work synergistically with artemisinin, with a meal where you consume some fat. I am taking 1 x 680mg capsule.
The Facebook article this was taken from does not give a dose so I suggest going with the dose on the bottle. Turmeric is very safe, but can be very heating so a guideline for a dose for an individual might be to take a dose which triggers heating but does not heat enough to cause discomfort. I personally overheat with turmeric which is why I am recommending breakfast and lunch, as a dose at dinner can cause overheating in bed at night.
WITH LUNCH, take (1x680mg capsule or more) curcumin/turmeric with a fatty meal.
BEFORE DINNER, 30 mg Heme iron every night 1 hour before dinner for the 7 day protocol. Only take iron every second night if on the 21 day protocol.
(The Heme iron I have managed to source is a much lower dose than 30mg, so I am again going with the dose recommended on the bottle. Although the author of the protocol considers 30mg to be a low dose, the RDA for most is 8mg per day, and for menstruating women, 18mg per day. I bought my Heme iron from here - https://www.cellsquared.com.au/blogs/blogs/what-is-heme-iron. They have a good explanation of what it is, and the correct dosage for different demographics. My current iron levels are mid range so I will err on the low side and check with blood tests regularly. )BEFORE DINNER, taken with the iron, 500 to 1,000 mg of vitamin C (more C won't be absorbed but if you get constipated increase the C until you are not). Take it every second day with the Heme iron if on the 21 day protocol.
AFTER DINNER, take TUDCA or TUDCA with Milk Thistle to help your liver do whatever it has to do to get nasty stuff out of your body. Try to get the form of TUDCA that is NOT made from bear bile.
As a protocol for cancer, take until your body no longer hurts, or until tests show your body is clear, which might take 4-12 weeks or longer.
I have simplified the above protocol down to the point where someone health compromised can comprehend and implement it without too much fuss.
What to do after the 21 day protocol [Added 8 May 2024]
When I first read this material, there were no instructions on what to do at the end of the protocol if the cancer is not resolved. For myself, I simply inserted a simplified Fenbendazole protocol for the 7-8 days before the next full moon then resumed.
However, the material in the new Substack article has clarified this point.
“Since liposomal artemisinin does not have to be pulsed (days on and days off) it is advisable to take 1,000 mg of liposomal artemisinin each day in the morning on an empty stomach for three weeks straight. Thereafter, a three week washout period is suggested during which one can switch and do the Fenbendazole protocol or other protocols…”
I am still not sure about this because it takes us out of sync with the full moon, which is important in anti-parasitic protocols, as the breeding cycle of parasites is controlled by the moon. However, some recommend that you can time the start of a protocol with the full moon or the new moon which would give you about the right time frame, cycling 3 weeks on the artemisinin protocol and 3 weeks on the fenben/ivermectin protocol. However, keep an eye on your liver enzymes and if they are rising significantly you might want to take a complete break.
I have documented two different Fenbendazole protocols here. The Joe Tippins one is now out of date but it is much simpler (and cheaper) than it’s replacement, so I am leaving it as is, bearing in mind that the more complicated this all gets, the less chance we have of getting it right. The Ivermectin/Fenbendazole protocol is comparatively simple.
Contraindications [added 8 May 2014]
What supplements not to take
Do not take vitamin E, melatonin or ubiquinol while on the artemisinin protocol.
Mainstream treatments
Artemisinin should not be combined with radiation therapy.
However, artemisinin is compatible with chemotherapy.
For more details on these claims, see the original Substack article linked below.

Part 2 - Taking a closer look at the protocol components, particularly if dealing with cancer [Section added 9 March 2024]
I have modified this section as a result of further research. I have been taking this protocol for the last 2 weeks and am enjoying it so much that I do not want to return to an Ivermectin or Fenbendazole based protocol. I decided to research it further to see if I could satisfy myself that continuing with this protocol is the right thing to do.
I include links to scientific studies. These are not necessarily the best studies and should be used as a starting point only rather than an end point of personal research.
Why take Artemisinin at all?
This is a good summary of the magic of wormwood.
Not only does Artemisinin kill various parasites of all types, but it has been shown to kill cancer cells.
Why take Liposomal Artemisinin?
The word liposomal refers to a way the artemisinin is processed to make it more available to the body.
“A drug preparation that contains the active drug inside very tiny, fat-like particles. This form is easier for the body to absorb and allows more drug to get to the target area of the body, such as a tumor. Liposomal drugs may have fewer side effects and work better than other forms of the drug.”
Why take Sodium Butyrate with Artemisinin?
For those who want to follow up on the science of taking Sodium Butyrate with Artemisinin, the following research paper explains it. In summary, the sodium butyrate increases the effectiveness of the artemisinin.
Synergistic cytotoxicity of artemisinin and sodium butyrate on human cancer cells
Why take Grapefruit Juice with Artemisinin?
The active ingredient in grapefruit juice is Naringenin.
I’m still investigating this one and will continue to search for references that relate specifically to artemisinin and grapefruit juice in the treatment of cancer. For now, most research relates to a manufactured derivative of artemisinin, artemether.
Grapefruit juice increases the bioavailability of artemether
As I am also dealing with metabolic syndrome and in particular, high blood sugar and high blood lipids, the active ingredient in grapefruit, Naringenin, is also shown to have significant benefits. (I love it when two ailments succumb to the same treatment. To me it implies that they have come from the same deeper source.)

Why take Curcumin or Turmeric alongside Artemisinin?
Curcumin is extracted from turmeric root.
Curcumin and Artemisinin have been shown to work well together for the treatment of malaria.
Curcumin-Artemisinin Combination Therapy for Malaria
It seems the same can be said for the combination of Curcumin and Artemisinin in the treatment of certain forms of cancer, although this research seems to be in its early days. Many natural cancer protocols include curcumin, and if cancer is a parasitic disease, as many think it is, then this combination of two powerful anti-parasitics can be expected to take its toll on a variety of damaging parasites.
There is also plenty of research into curcumin alone as a cancer treatment.
My logic for using curcumin alongside Artemisinin treatment is two fold (apart from the fact that this protocol tells us to do it):
it has been shown to work well alongside Artemisinin in the treatment of malaria which tends to indicate that the two are compatible and potentially work well together
it has been shown to work well alone in the treatment of various cancers.
Why take iron, and why heme iron in particular?
Iron should be taken before taking artemisinin as it increases the cancer kill percentage by a factor of 3 (from below 30% to above 90%). The amount of iron that is recommended is not huge as it’s only 20 - 30 mg and taken only on the nights before taking artemisinin the next morning. It’s less than twice the RDA daily recommended allowance and well below the upper limit of 45 mg for adults.
For more details on the role or iron and for additional protocols for those who cannot get hold of the recommended tablets, go to the original protocol article that has been reprinted here.
Artemisinin - The Herbal Bombshell for Cancer
Why take Vitamin C?
Put simply, vitamin C makes everything work better. It is particularly important to take it with the heme iron.
Why take TUDCA?
The full name for TUDCA is Tauroursodeoxycholic acid. It was originally made from bear bile which is why the awful treatment of sun bears in some Asian countries. It is now available in manufactured form so please ensure this is what you purchase.
TUDCA seems to perform two roles in a cancer protocol.
First it protects the liver from damage and helps it heal, particularly if combined with milk thistle.
Second, it seems to have some anti-cancer properties in it’s own right
Part 3 - Other benefits of Artemisinin
It helps to control blood sugar
Given that sugar metabolism is so significant in the management of cancer, the role of Artemisinin in helping manage blood sugar might be significant. And for those with Type 2 diabetes it claims to have similar efficacy to Metformin without the dangerous side-effects.

Dr Len Saputo
Here is information from a different doctor who is suggesting:
pulsing 4 days on 3 days off
200-500 mg per day taken orally
taken with iron unless you already have an issue with iron
rarely it can cause inflammation of the liver
This video is helpful to understand the action of artemisinin and how it is impacted by iron. You will find more information from Dr Len Saputo on his website below.

Omega Precision Oncology, Institute of Integrative BioOncology [Section added 16 March 2024]
I have only just come across these people but I think their protocols may warrant serious attention. They involve only off the shelf supplements so they are manageable without medical support, but as they involve a lot of supplements, the overall cost might be prohibitive. One of their protocols is for artemisinin and this is their shopping list.
The complete remission protocol - based on artemisinin
Artemisinin 100mg – 2 caps, daily
Berberine-300-500 mg – Take 1 capsule, two or three times daily

Pure Encapsulations B-Complex Plus, 1 cap, daily
Warnings
DO NOT take supplemental selenium if you have prostate cancer (based on SELECT clinical trial, Se makes prostate cancer more aggressive. )
Limit your Vit E to 50 IU if you have prostate cancer. For others, limit Vit E to 200IU.
If you are taking Baking Soda, you have to monitor your BLOOD level of bicarbonate level at least monthly. Baking Soda taken by mouth is a MEDICINE.
If you are taking Vitamin D, your blood level of 25OH vitamin D has to be monitored. The goal is 75-100. Not 35, not 40.

I wonder if one could use grapefruit seed extract instead of the juice.
Oh apologies! Now it is :) Strange. Must be my phone.
